Assay service
Neutron activation analysis of submitted samples. The assay fee is charged per sample, and reports total disintegrations per minute for each label present in it. Blood flow in mL/min/g is calculated on request for a further fee per experimental subject, and needs the tissue masses and reference withdrawal recorded on the assay request form.
| Service | Price | Basis |
|---|---|---|
| Assay fee, 2 mL and 4 mL sample vials | $15.00 | per sample |
| Assay fee, 20 mL blood sample vials | $30.00 | per sample |
| Assay fee, 20 mL vial containing tissue | $60.00 | per sample |
| Blood flow calculation | $60.00 | per experimental subject |
Samples should be shipped dry. Where drying is required, $1.00 per sample is added and appears as a handling charge. Results are available within ten working days of receipt.
Sample vials and buffer
The vials are polypropylene, cleaned of sodium and trace-element contamination and calibrated to the activation and counting equipment. The assay is run in these vials specifically and will not accept substitutes. The sodium-free buffer replaces saline or PBS during sample preparation, so that sodium background does not compete with the label.
| Item | Supplied as | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Tissue-sample vials, 2 mL, polypropylene | pack of 100 | $90.00 |
| Tissue-sample vials, 4 mL, polypropylene | pack of 100 | $90.00 |
| Blood-sample vials, 20 mL, polypropylene | pack of 10 | $45.00 |
| Sodium-free buffer, 10x concentrate | 100 mL vial | $200.00 |
| Sodium-free buffer, 10x concentrate | six 100 mL vials | $800.00 |
The buffer contains lithium and is for research use only. It is not for human or in vivo use.
